Frida Giannini: Glamour Women Fashion Designer of the Year

Frida Giannini was named Fashion Designer of the Year at last night’s Glamour Women of the Year Awards. The Italian fashion house’s creative director won the accolade at the ceremony at London’s Berkeley Square Gardens, where some of the world’s most glamorous women were in attendance.
Kylie Minogue stole the show by winning Entrepreneur of the Year and Woman of the Year and looked stunning in a black simple dress and animal print pashmina. Samantha Cameron - wife of British Conservative party leader David Cameron - was named Accessory Designer of the Year and attended the event with her husband. Newcomer of the Year Katy Perry dazzled in a satin strapless blue dress while Amanda Seyfried - who was named Film Actress of the Year - looked pretty in a loud-print dress.

Hewitt predicts own engagement
While Jennifer Love Hewitt is denying that she and boyfriend Jamie Kennedy are engaged, she has given him an ultimatum of sorts.
“By this time next year, if we’re not planning something, then there’s a situation.”
Nothing says love like a forced engagement, Jennifer. .
Classy Katy
Katy Perry tells Seventeen magazine that she’s not the kind of girl to hook up. She refused to kiss boyfriend Travis McCoy until they went out on a date.
Only in Hollywood would not being a tramp make the news.
Hudson’s sprint
At the recent Veuve Clicquot’s Manhattan Polo Classic in New York horses weren’t the only thing running. When Kate Hudson caught wind that Madonna was on her way, she took off at high speed. Kate is rumored to be dating Madonna’s rumored ex A-rod, so I guess she didn’t want to risk a confrontation with the Material Girl.
And here I thought she was an actress, not an 8th grader.
I’m not a scorned wife…but……
Eddie Cibrian’s wife, Brandi Glanville is claiming that LeAnn Rimes is “stalking” Eddie. Seems the country singer refuses to face the fact that her affair with Cibrian is over.
In an interview with US weekly the ticked of wife says that “LeAnn is so desperate for fame she has left her self-respect in the gutter and doesn’t care who she hurts to get what she wants. She’s hurting my family and messing with the wrong mom.”
Interesting. And here I thought she was messing with your husband.
Once a quitter, always a quitter
So it seems that the third time is, indeed, a charm. Or, in the case of the other contestants on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! a relief.
The public pukefest known as Speidi has once again quit the reality TV show, but this time for good. In fact the show has already added another Baldwin to the cast, with Daniel replacing Spencer Pratt. Heidi Montag’s replacement has not been announced yet, but unless they get the bag lady from down the street that pees on herself, the new contestant won’t be as nauseating or annoying as Heidi.

Congrats!
Cynthia Nixon, of Sex and the City fame, announced yesterday at a gay rights rally in New York that she and longtime girlfriend Christine Marinoni were engaged last month.
Rehab, round 50??
Seems that Tara Reid is back to her partying ways. She has been spotted and photographed partying it hard at the Cannes Film Festival. In fact, in some pics, she looks barely conscious. Could another trip to rehab be in order?
Perry shows her support
On American Idol last week, Katy Perry showed her support of Adam Lambert by displaying his name on the back of the cape she was wearing during her performance of her hit Waking up in Vegas. But, it seems that the big wigs weren’t very impressed with her display. In fact, if you go to iTunes and download Perry’s performance, Adam’s name won’t even appear on the cape. What’s the big deal, anyway? Wasn’t Lambert a shoe in to win since week one?
Cameron slumming it?
Are Cameron Diaz and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine a couple? The two were spotted getting cozy at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood on Sunday.
Really, Cameron? Adam Levine? What, was John Mayer busy?
Another diva moment
Mariah Carey was more than an hour late for the red carpet stroll for the premier of her new movie, Precious. Why was she so late? Well, she was waiting for the film’s director, Lee Daniels. And in true Mariah fashion, she remained ticked off and sources say things were tense between her and Lee at the after party. Mariah’s boy man hubby, Nick Cannon, was also reportedly in a crappy mood.
Another Paris movie
Did we really need a documentary showing us the “real” Paris Hilton? ‘Cuz that’s apparently what director Adria Petty is attempting with her flick, Paris, Not France.
Nothing says you’re a regular ole girl than a documentary about yourself.
American Idol 8: Top 3 Results

Ben Stiller, of all people, opened the Top 3 results show of American Idol 8. This odd skit was a tribute to the judges’ table and featured some pretty good comedy from Stiller, SNL regular Will Forte and Simpsons cast member Hank Azaria. Jonah Hill, looking rather dapper with a short haircut, also had a few lines.
All of this, of course, was one long and boring promotion for Stiller’s new movie. Guess which movie company is behind that flick? …
Anyway, there would be many more promotions before the episode was over. Soon enough, Ryan Seacrest was standing on stage touting the fact that the Idol desk is going into the Smithsonian. Don’t get excited. This is just another cross-promotion. The name of the Stiller movie contains the word “Smithsonian,” and Freemantle is figuring they can use reality success to translate into more movie tickets for a sequel that probably won’t break box office records.

Idols Underwood and Hudson Among Grammy Performers

Once again, former American Idol contestants will be represented in the annual Grammy broadcast.
Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson are the latest nominees scheduled to perform at next month’s ceremony. Underwood, who already has three statues under her belt, is currently up for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Meanwhile, Hudson, who will also be singing at the upcoming Super Bowl, is hoping to place a Grammy right next to her Oscar.
Other acts confirmed for the telecast include Kenny Chesney, Katy Perry and the Jonas Brothers. Coldplay - up for seven awards - will also perform as will Lil Wayne. The rapper leads this year’s field with a total of eight nominations.
The 51st Annual Grammy Awards will air February 8th on CBS.

Coldplay, Leona Lewis Top iTunes’ 2008 Sales

Earlier this year at the 2008 Oscars, American actors walked away empty-handed. Now American musicians are being pushed aside by the British Invasion.
According to the Associated Press, this year’s best iTunes sellers were performers from across the pond. Topping the album charts was Coldplay’s Viva la Vida. Although the company does not reveal actual sales numbers, a majority of the band’s digital sales (500,000 since June) were apparently purchased through iTunes. (More than 2 million copies of Viva have been sold overall.) The other artists in the Top 5 include Jack Johnson (Sleep Through the Static), the Juno soundtrack, Lil Wayne (Tha Carter III) and Sara Bareilles (Little Voice).

Katy Perry Falls Hard - Again and Again and Again

In some MTV performances, it’s the lead singer’s intention to end up on the ground. (Remember Madonna’s classic Like a Virgin number?) Unfortunately, that was not the case for Katy Perry last night.
At yesterday’s MTV Latin America bash, the “I Kissed a Girl” singer gave the foreign audience something to remember the American by. Perry - who coincidentally used a cake as a prop like Madonna - thought it would be entertaining to dive into the large dessert at the end of her song. Unfortunately for her, the entertainment she provided was clearly unscripted.
The embarrassment begins around the :20 mark.
Whoopi Kisses Katy Perry on The View
